Before I go in to the details of this drawing in today’s post, I just wanna start out by saying Happy Valentine’s day! I hope those of you celebrating it really enjoy your day today :D! Of course, those of us who go to school and people who work most likely see this as just another day :S.

Also, I just wanted to announce that I have posted another drawing video! I really like how the first few turned out, and I think it’s just a lot of fun xD. You can find it over at Youtube, along with some of my other art work videos. There’s not many right now but I think I’m gonna start making these videos on a regular basis. I’ll throw in some tutorial videos too in the future ^^.

So on to the drawing! I was watching some National Geographic episodes and I saw one about dolphins, you can only imagine what happened next xD. I just started drawing and here is what I came up with. For some odd reason, I like how coral looks underwater. Every time I draw an underwater scene, there has to be some coral or other ocean life in the drawing,  heeheehee!

The amount of time it took me to draw and color this in Photoshop was about 2 hours tops. I wasn’t keeping track but two shows ended by the time I was finished with it :p.

Since I won’t be around until Saturday night, I decided to pre-draw today’s drawing and tomorrow’s drawing so I won’t have to worry them xD. I hope you guys like the art work I made for the two days and I will try to reply back to comments when I return on Saturday ^^.

This drawing was a really simple one that took very little effort. I drew it last night and since I was tired, I didn’t feel like taking the time to create something extravagant. It barely took me about an hour and half to draw and color this and the most difficult part about it was the hair. I was too tired to draw in each and every strand so I sort of just half assed it a little xD. Just wanted to get the job done.

Not sure where I got the inspiration from. I was looking through pictures of princesses and I liked how a girl was posing so I tried to make a drawing with a similar pose with her hair blowing in the wind. Like I said, not much thought compared to what I’m used to!

The drawing itself took about 2 hours and the coloring process took another 2 hours. So in total, this drawing was completed in about 4 hours this morning. I got the idea of the background tavern setting by looking through various different photos of taverns last night. I tried to make it look kind of dull and gloomy.

The girl was not originally going to be  a wench but yeah…I changed my mind :p. I hope you all enjoy this piece of art work today. I’m currently working on some more tutorials to post up pretty soon as well.

In other news, school is not bogging me down as much as I thought it would. But is only the first week and I expect for it to pick up some more within the next couple of weeks x.x.

As a side note, I also made an easy tutorial of how to draw an ice cream cone. I’m working on a little goal for myself to start making more tutorials and posting them to the blog more often. In case you are wonder about the drawing, it is of my cat Jake in anthro form. This is how I would picture Jake if he could walk on his hind legs and wear clothes. He’s a very rambunctious little thing who is always finding a way to get in to my things. Lately, he’s been getting in to my closet (I guess he can open doors now!) and playing with my things while I’m asleep!

While I was making this drawing, I put toys and other little gadgets that little kids like to play with. As you can see, he is playing with a slinky. I tried showing this drawing to my cat last night and he just rolled over and went to sleep. He just didn’t give a dang xD. Cats don’t seem to have much of an appreciation for art I guess :s.

Jake might not care but I am pretty happy with how this turned out. I think I’ll make a drawing of my other cat too, I’m just trying to imagine how I would envision her as an anthro. She’s sort of the dominant one of the two so I’ll probably make something along those lines.

Okay…So these two characters are made up by myself, but they already existed prior to this post xD. Since I’m on the subject, I might as well explain a little bit about my webcomics while I’m at it. These two characters were originally created for my first DD webcomic known as The Faction, but were later migrated over to my more recent story known as DeadFingers.

I won’t really say much more about this drawing due to the fear revealing some spoilers, but these two characters are tied together somehow (Some fans even speculate that the two characters in the story may even be related.) Thankfully, I have to manually approve every message I get (Thankyou WordPress!) so I never allow for spam to be published which is great! I would be pretty sad if spammers took over my blog with their silly messages. I won’t allow it! If you don’t have a general interest in art, then you should not be here. Period. I can tell the difference between a spam robot and a human being, thank you very much! 😀

So about this drawing. I was reminiscing on final fantasy 10 (which by the way, was not my favorite one of the bunch) and I thought about the monster Khimaira! So I decided to draw up my very own version of Chimera. What I noticed with all the available pictures out there of the creature is that every single interpretation of it was different. Sometimes, she had the face of a lion, the horns and legs of a goat and wings of a giant dragon. And other times, she had the body of a lion with a goat and a serpent stuck to the side and a snake’s head at the end of the tail. I believe the latter version to be the more accurate as far as I know :o…

In other news, It’s going to be February tomorrow! Which means I can start adding Valentine’s day themed-fantasy-inspired art. I can’t wait for it to begin ^^.

I think the one thing I can’t stand the most in life is wasting time. I always like to make the most of my time everyday and 9/10 times, you will never catch me staring mindlessly at a wall or something like that xD. I admit to taking a lot of breaks but I still try to be productive even during break time (If that makes any sense…Dx). I will make it an effort to wake up earlier tomorrow than I did today :).

I did manage to finish coloring this though, which is another accomplishment for me. What gave me the idea to create this drawing was when I was thinking of my great grandmother yesterday. In the times that she was alive, she spent the majority of her life as a voodoo priestess. She actually used to run a voodoo shop. Strange I know, but it’s true :o…

One thing that I’ve begun to notice since I began posting art on this blog is that my style seems to be evolving in to more of an anime-style. This isn’t done on purpose, I guess I’ve just had a lot of anime inspiration lately, oddly enough. I haven’t touched a single anime or video game in a few weeks so I have no idea xD.

In other news, I’m still developing this blog and its categories. I’ve added a Link section for anyone who is interested in linking back to I 365 Art. Anyone who is interested in purchasing art or buying a commission. This blog is still very new but I’m surprised that people are finding it already. Speaking of which, I’m working on some simple tutorials to add to the Tutorial section of this blog. I’m gonna start out with some easy ones for now and then work my way up to more elaborate tutorials. I’ve never written a tutorial before so I’ve put a lot of thought in to them. I hope I can really help someone out with these tutorials. Another thing I’m planning on introducing to the blog is a possible calendar book collection of various artwork from 365 challenge. We’ll see!

Finally, on to the drawing. The drawing is a mix between fantasy and science fiction, hence the Dark Future title. I was also aiming for a January theme as well. As of last night, I started thinking about adding drawings themed for each month. Next month is going to be fun, without a doubt. This drawing took me about 2 1/2 hours to draw and color in. I consider it another one of my more detailed pieces, kind of like my Water Willow drawing.

Still fighting a cold but I feel much, much better after sleeping in a couple hours longer today xD. Rest and plenty of fluids work wonders. In other news, My boyfriend and I will be going to the movies this weekend to see Red Tails :3. We’re really looking forward to going but I need to try to kick this cold before then. I’m beating it so far xD xD!
