I figured I’d draw some simple objects this weekend since things have been kind of rough this month so far. I’ve been busier than ever and I just haven’t been feeling like myself lately. I need to take a break this weekend to get back in touch with myself again. I’ve been so busy that I haven’t been focusing on myself. I think I should take some time off to pamper myself some ^^!

I wanna start including more detailed art work on the blog. Not just that but I am seriously learning everything I wanted to learn about Photoshop as well. Ever since I started this blog, I have been making progress on my art skills ever since. It’s amazing really!

So seriously. I got the idea to make this drawing last night when I was reminiscing on an old playstion 1 game known as Thousand Arms. The game is an old dinosaur from the late 90s’ that I picked up back in 6th grade at a toy store. There was a girl monster in the game that was wearing a night gown and was seemingly possessed. She also had a floating teddy bear too (I think!).

Notice I drew the teddy bear super evil looking in the illustration. One thing I might change about this is the girl’s facial expression. Not sure if I want her to have razor sharp teeth/crazy smile in the picture. I might go for a more sinister/serious look in the future. But anyway, I can’t wait to start painting on this! I’ve been learning new techniques in Photoshop lately and I can’t wait to try out my latest learned technique on this sketch.

As you know, I got my creative mojo back today, and I feel like I can take on the world and draw something new everyday now! We’ll see xD. Also, be sure to check out my latest palm tree tutorial. I guarantee you, it will be the polar opposite of today’s blog part art xD.

The legs look a little funny to me :S. I was attempting to make the feet look sort of pigeon toed but now it just looks like she wants to pee xD. This drawing only took about an hour and 3 minutes to make in Photoshop.

For the drawing, I basically hand drew this one and inked over the drawing in Photoshop.The stockings were the hardest part. I kept having to have to adjust the colors over and over again because it looked to bright at first. Painting didn’t take anytime at all and I even slapped on a filter effect in the background. Yes, I rushed xD.

If you don’t know, I like the color pink! I’m not afraid to admit that I enjoy the girly things in life. I guess you could say that I’m a bit of a “girly girl”, whatever that’s supposed to mean :/.

I do participate in traditionally “tomboy” activities such as gaming, computer programming and science. I am also somewhat of a minimalist and I prefer staying home, playing Age of Empires over going shopping or hanging out at the mall. And I just so happen to love the color pink!

To be frank, I don’t really like to slap labels on myself or anything. From what I can see, all labels do is cause unnecessary separation. I think people as a whole are just naturally prone to associating themselves with a certain group.  It’s just human nature to want to be accepted by people. But why do we need to have the approval of others?

I don’t really feel like going on a long rant today so I’ll save the rest of this topic for another time I guess x.x.

This took a little over 2 hours to draw in photoshop and paint digitally. I haven’t drawn a male character in a while so I thought I’d make one today. A somewhat muscly male at that! I’ve always had a fascination with bows and arrows and the likes! Of course, you won’t catch me at an archery range in a million years! I’m afraid all the potential stray arrows, just no way xD I’m a wuss when it comes to that sort of thing!

So last night, I got this other idea about what I want to ultimately do with the blog in the near future. I’m thinking of just hosting my drawing tutorials here. Not only will there be no limitations on my end, but just so they will be more easily accessible and so people won’t have to leave the website just to see them. I don’t know about anyone else but I think that’s a better plan than what I’ve currently been following previously xD.

Anyway, I’ll be updating I 365 Art within the course of a few days so don’t be startled if you notice a ton of changes in your next visit :p.

Firstly, I wanted to start out by giving mention to a new art blog I discovered yesterday. It’s called The art and tree chatter of aquariann. Not only is this Aquariann lady an artist, but she appears to be in to crafts as well. That in my book just spells creativity! Anyway, I was checking out her blog and really enjoyed what she had on there. I also think that her site is really pretty and nature-ish. I thought it might be something that visitors to this blog might like as it relates to arts and crafts. That and she just has a pretty neat style :3.

As you can see, I also included the color palette that I used to paint with. I rarely ever keep the palette in my paintings but I thought I’d base it around today’s discussion!

never, ever used color palettes until maybe a few months ago. Iused to just blindly paint a drawing and continue to add on colors. Not until recent years did I ever discover the importance of keeping the colors you used handy, in case you need to add a little more of something here and there. I didn’t realize until a few months ago that digital painting is really not extremely different from traditional painting. Well, except for the digital factor. xD Okay, so there is a difference, my bad!

Obviously, digital is a lot more flexible than using oil paints for instance. For example, you can easily fix a big booboo in Photoshop with no problem. Whereas if you are going the traditional route, you’ll have to paint over the mistake until it looks satisfactory. At least this was my experience in traditional painting. I don’t know, maybe I just suck . I do want to take up painting again some day, maybe during the summer when I have more time :).

Before I go in to the details of this drawing in today’s post, I just wanna start out by saying Happy Valentine’s day! I hope those of you celebrating it really enjoy your day today :D! Of course, those of us who go to school and people who work most likely see this as just another day :S.

Also, I just wanted to announce that I have posted another drawing video! I really like how the first few turned out, and I think it’s just a lot of fun xD. You can find it over at Youtube, along with some of my other art work videos. There’s not many right now but I think I’m gonna start making these videos on a regular basis. I’ll throw in some tutorial videos too in the future ^^.

So on to the drawing! I was watching some National Geographic episodes and I saw one about dolphins, you can only imagine what happened next xD. I just started drawing and here is what I came up with. For some odd reason, I like how coral looks underwater. Every time I draw an underwater scene, there has to be some coral or other ocean life in the drawing,  heeheehee!

The amount of time it took me to draw and color this in Photoshop was about 2 hours tops. I wasn’t keeping track but two shows ended by the time I was finished with it :p.

Anyway,I’m pretty sure the reason behind this drawing was because I was tired and the t.v. was on at the time. It only took about an hour and half to do this, I really wanted to get some sleep xD. One of these days, I’m gonna just draw a horizontal line and call it a day.

Also, I’ve been thinking some lately…I feel like maybe I should branch out and try other mediums. I feel like I’ve been using photoshop a lot and I want to try something a little more traditional. I’m not too good with paints from what I’ve experienced, but I did used to make some  pretty interesting things with pastels and colored pencils combined in the past. What do you think?

I think the main reason for why I use photoshop so much is because it’s so convenient x.x. I don’t have to buy special art supplies or anything. That and I just like it. I don’t know xD.
