Today, I drew up this design of a gown. I was thinking of making a pretty gown all day Friday, and it HAD to be blue. A deep blue. There’s just something about the color blue on a fancy gown :S.

This design concept didn’t really take long. I do admit that I did look through a few fashion magazines before I came up with this concept. It’s kinda hard to create something spectacular on your own, you know.

Anyway, you guys might not have known this but I wanted to be a fashion designer back in high school. My best friend Diana and I wanted to come up with a fashion design company and become rich and famous someday. We were gonna call it Dimarie (don’t ask why!) of course after graduation, we lost touch and our idea never really turned in to anything. Later down the road, I kind of was glad that I didn’t become a fashion designer. It’s not something I would enjoy doing for a living. I am okay with designing stuff for fun sometimes though :3.

The tutorials I made so far have received some emails of positive feedback which makes me very happy. I know not very many people are finding my things for right now, but I’m really happy that I didn’t make them in vain! Well, I’m not sure if it would be in vain if no one ever read them since I enjoyed putting them together. But I would be a bit more reluctant to write them anymore I guess :s. I feel a bit more compelled to compile a HUGE list of random tutorials some day :3.

Ali. R. Thome – Really awesome blog that I stumbled on in late January. She is a really talented caricature artist that I really look up to. She’s such a good artist :3!

Anna Bron – She is a multi media artist who creates absolutely beautiful masterpieces on a weekly basis!

Danielle Corsetto – I’m a nerd so I recently found a new comic fix xD. Danielle is the writer and artist of a web comic known as Girls with Slingshots. Interesting blogger with an interesting comic.

Denise Randall – My home girl! I’ve known Denise for a number of years and we met each other in the Drunk Duck community a while back. I have been following her extensive series known as The Only Half Saga since like, forever! Really awesome comic that needs to be looked at right now!

So if you didn’t already know, I posted this tutorial a couple of days ago. I think I’m gonna try to post some more challenging tutorials in the future, I’m just not sure what x.x. Like I said, I’m feeling a little less inspired right now for some reason :s. I’ll try to come up with something tonight.

I of course painted the knight’s armor a little darker than I originally intended to. I thought that a more darker looking knight would look more intimidating and cooler looking. The digital painting process took around 2 1/2 hours because I couldn’t make up my mind xD! I might actually remake the background and draw in a castle scenery in the future instead. I only had a day to draw this so that’s why I didn’t go all out on the background. This isn’t really the best but I figure it’s practice xD.

Also, I’ve been thinking. You know how sometimes I make a sketch of something and don’t post the finished artwork until the next day? Would the finished product still be considered a daily drawing? I thought that instead of making a drawing everyday, sometimes I could just post the progress of one drawing within the course of 2 days. Not only does it give you guys an insight on how I colored my art drawings but it also gives me a little break from the drawing board I guess.

I’m gonna be away for a whole week at the end of the month, so I guess I better start figuring out how I’m going to make enough posts/drawings for 7 days, hehe! Why do I always put myself in a fix like this?

Also, I included a remake of a previous tutorial I created in the past. It’s a tutorial on how to draw an eye. It’s a pretty easy one and if you’re interested, feel free to take a look at it as well as some of the other tutorials. Take care guys!

The post Day #50 Knight in Shining Armor Drawing Finished appeared first on I 365 Art.

This may be a little strange but I always like to play tough, knightly characters in games. Many people assume that females who play games are only in to playing as mages or priests (which is partly true a lot of the time.) Whenever I played with my female friends, 8/10 times, they would usually roll a caster class, or a healer. I’m not sure why this is o.O. I make a horrible caster, being a warrior or paladin or something where I have to protect a bunch of people. That’s where I’m at!

Enough of the nerd rant I guess xD. I do plan on painting this knight in Photoshop hopefully by tonight. The drawing itself took no longer than an hour and I really enjoyed making it. Hopefully by tomorrow, I’ll have this completed and ready to post to the blog. I feel a lot better today and I feel pretty hopeful so far.

I’m not too happy with how this came out. I might just re-draw this one when I get some free time xD. In fact for some reason, I’m feeling kind of blue all of a sudden today. I feel like I need to release something, it’s really strange. I haven’t felt depressed or upset in a while. It might have something to do with my recent challenges in school or the fact that I’ve been extremely busy lately. I haven’t had much time to myself.

Maybe it’s a sign that I need to take slow down and take a break before I burn out. Perhaps, going to school and working was not a good idea after all :/. I need to make an income so I might have to put school aside for a while until I think I am ready to take on both again. Either that or I might have to consider taking less units at a time next semester.

I was really excited about school when I first started but now, I’m just extremely overwhelmed and I’m not sure how I’m going to get through the entire semester alive x.x. For now,  I 365 Art is my only real outlet. Drawing has helped me get through a lot of issues in my life, including this one.

When I’m feeling down, I express my pain and emotions through my art work. I guess that can explain why today’s drawing is so gloomy and dull. Well, enough of the ranting xD! Hope you all have a good weekend.

I think the hardest part of this drawing was the dress. I struggled a lot with it because I was sort of contemplating whether or not to make it more of a blue or purple  shade. So I sort of combined both in the dress. But I suppose that the painting could have turned out to be a bit more satisfactory if I had more than a couple hours to do these heheh.

My favorite parts of this digital painting was probably the hair and the lake in the background. The hair is not as realistic as I wanted it to be but I sure did enjoy working on the strands if you can’t tell. I sorta went crazy there! And for the water, I basically just used a bunch of different blue shades from dark to light to create the effect.

Other than that, I think that is all for today. I have soooo much to get done by tomorrow so yeah :x. Also, keep an eye out for tutorials, I might add another one today if I have the time.  See you all tomorrow!

Today, I am posting a draft of a drawing I started working on. It is supposed to be a fair standing near a fantasy lake. I had a really fun time drawing in her hair the way I did. I drew her hair really long and flowy to make it look somewhat elaborate and over the top. I won’t be around for a couple of days so I won’t have a colored version of this until probably Sunday.

On a side note, today has been really frustrating so far, so I’m gonna vent through this blog >_<. Okay so there’s good news and bad news. The good news is the amount of visitors to i 365 art within the first month has reached nearly 800 in this month alone. This is really awesome! I’m super happy that my art work is getting out there and people are seeing it ^^.

Now, for the bad news…It’s very possible that in the near future, I will be forced to change hosts due to the increasing traffic the blog has received. I am a little frustrated about this because, well frankly,  I don’t feel like transferring/upgrading xD!

I didn’t think the blog was gonna see this many visitors so soon, so this means I will soon be forced to fork out like $80+ every 2 years for a dedicated host :s. Whatever, I’ll live I guess x.x. This means that the site will be down for about 24 hours next month or in march while I transfer all of the art work and content over to the new host. I should be celebrating but…meh.

Anyway, be sure to check back tomorrow for another new drawing :3.
