I remember mentioning on here that I am somewhat of a shy person. Ironically though, I am a cosplay model. I get in front of cameras all the time, yet I’m still super shy. As you may know, I have also mentioned that I am very shy about talking about my cosplay subculture here on the blog, but this year, I think it’s time that I break out of my shell!

Anyway, I think cosplaying is still a form of art for me, especially since it does involve drawing designs, cutting out and sewing patterns by hand. The costume I am wearing in this post is for the character Morrigan from the game Dragon Age Origins. I decided to go ahead and sew this costume because of the intricate designs on it. I do love a challenge I must say :3. I created pretty much the entire thing by hand, including most of the jewelry as well. The only things that I didn’t make were the boots and black leggings.

This photo was taken this past weekend during Anime Los Angeles by the awesome Darryl Pamplin. Hopefully i’ll gain enough courage to post up more cosplay related stuff here on the blog in the near future. 🙂

I like Artrage a lot because the tools are more for a painting style. I’m still learning things from it, I think it may become my new favorite program of choice pretty soon :3. I had heard good things about Artrage in the past and now, I can certainly see why I have. :3

If you don’t know already, this is based off of the character from the Black Swan film. I really like her tutu and the dark make up Natalie Portman’s character wears in the film! It kind of makes me want to recreate the costume someday when I have some time :3.

My sister Danielle McRae played the voice of Painwheel, one of the main fighting characters in the Skull Girls game. She is also one of my personal favorites, she just looks the coolest in my opinion xD. That and she has some interesting character development as well.

I’m not really sure if I mentioned this on the blog before or not, but Danielle McRae is a pretty well known voice actor these days. She’s worked on various different video games, shows and audio books  including World of Warcraft, League of Legends, Carmen Sandiego, Drow Tales and many, many more.

A little bit about today’s drawing. It is of course a fan art of Painwheel that I started on around midnight and completed by 3 a.m. It was created digitally and entirely in Photoshop. This is a realistic drawing approach to the character. If you haven’t seen the game yet, the characters are drawn in somewhat of a cartoon style. I thought i’d apply my own style to this :3.

Anyway, be sure to check out the brand new game Skull Girls. It’s scheduled to be released sometime today on the PS3 :D!

This is a really cool character that stuck with me during a game called Mass Effect 3 from Bioware. Her name is Jack and she is a really cool trash talking biotic character in the game. I know some  of you don’t play video games but I really felt the need to draw Jack. Her new design is just awesome xD. In the previous game, she was completely baled so I really enjoy the fact that she has hair.

This whole entire thing took about 4 or 5 hours mainly because I was trying to get the details down. Drawing was a sinch but painting it in Photoshop was a real pain Dx. The tattoos were the hardest and I still think I could have done them better. I am a big dork and have been following Mass Effect for quite some time now. ME3 is supposedly the final installment to the trilogy.

I realize that there is a huge controversy over the ending to Mass Effect 3. People are saying that the game is so awesome up until the last 15 minutes and I totally agree. 99% of the game is great up until the end x.x. It’s like, Why?!?!? Anyway, regardless of how the game ended, Jack is still one of my favorite characters in the series and I wish she got more screen time in the game.

I hope you guys like this drawing, whether you’re a gamer or not :3. This is my interpretation of the character Jack. Also on a side note, I’m currently working on a few tutorials for this week. I won’t be around much next week so they are all going to just pop up automatically next week. Well, have a good day guys :3.
