Even though I’m going to be busy throughout the entire month, I still want to find some time to work on my comic as well as this blog. Although work is very important to me, so is my sanity and what I stand for xD. I love posting things on I 365 Art and even though I can’t really update as often as i’d like, It’s still being developed everyday and I am constantly thinking of new things to add all the time :3.

Here is an older drawing that I created a while back, and I haven’t posted it to the blog yet. I actually have quite a few drawings that i’d like to post to this blog, new and old, but especially some of the older stuff I have made. This is yet another piece inspired by some characters in my web series DeadFingers. The characters Orn and Wendy (for anyone who has been following, you have probably already seen this image months ago :3.)

At the moment, we’re about 75% situated at our new apartment. We still don’t have a working fridge or any television set up yet. We aren’t big t.v. watchers but I can’t wait to have the television working soon! Surprisingly, I think i’m getting settled in faster than I previously expected. The only difference now is I have more bills to pay for, hehe. That and I have more privacy and freedom which is nice :3.

Today’s drawing is based around my newest character in the DeadFingers series. Not much to say about this character aside from the fact that she is blind. Anyway, I hope I can maintain my blog better throughout the remainder of this month and next! It’s good to be back! 😀

I don’t know if it has to do with the face that the color black goes with pretty much everything ( I’ve never seen anything go wrong with black!) I felt that her dark hair would make a great contrast to the plated armor she’s wearing.

On a side not, I finally posted my latest tutorial today! It’s been a long time since I made one due to my crazy and unpredictable schedule. It’s not really anything extraordinary but some of you might find it interesting :3.

Firstly, I wanted to start out by giving mention to a new art blog I discovered yesterday. It’s called The art and tree chatter of aquariann. Not only is this Aquariann lady an artist, but she appears to be in to crafts as well. That in my book just spells creativity! Anyway, I was checking out her blog and really enjoyed what she had on there. I also think that her site is really pretty and nature-ish. I thought it might be something that visitors to this blog might like as it relates to arts and crafts. That and she just has a pretty neat style :3.

As you can see, I also included the color palette that I used to paint with. I rarely ever keep the palette in my paintings but I thought I’d base it around today’s discussion!

never, ever used color palettes until maybe a few months ago. Iused to just blindly paint a drawing and continue to add on colors. Not until recent years did I ever discover the importance of keeping the colors you used handy, in case you need to add a little more of something here and there. I didn’t realize until a few months ago that digital painting is really not extremely different from traditional painting. Well, except for the digital factor. xD Okay, so there is a difference, my bad!

Obviously, digital is a lot more flexible than using oil paints for instance. For example, you can easily fix a big booboo in Photoshop with no problem. Whereas if you are going the traditional route, you’ll have to paint over the mistake until it looks satisfactory. At least this was my experience in traditional painting. I don’t know, maybe I just suck . I do want to take up painting again some day, maybe during the summer when I have more time :).

So anyway, since the subject presented itself in a strange way, I wanted to talk about how drawing everyday has sort of kept me from losing it these days. My schedule is really crazy right now and although I do have to take time out of my day to draw, I draw during my resting periods.

I see art as sort of an outlet to get away from the rustle and bustle of everyday life. It’s kind of a stress reliever for me actually. In fact, blogging in general is a stress reliever if its something you like to do I guess. So yea, I just thought I’d get that out there!

A little bit more background on the drawing. It took about an hour and half to make this in digitally in photoshop. I did use several references to base the drawing off of but the concept is basically original.

Also once again, I have added some more tutorials to the resources section of the blog. Also, don’t forget that there are prints available as well. There will be more merchandise available pretty soon as well so keep checking back!

Today, I decided to make some digital artwork of a Unicorn. I’ve been in the mood for making fantasy drawings these days, not sure why xD. Maybe it’s because I want to get away from reality for a little while, lol. I didn’t have a lot of time to spend on this since this week is gonna be sort of tight. I spent about 2 hours tops on this.

I think with all this My Little Pony talk, the thought of colorful horses/unicorns came to my mind. I’m not a big fan of the new My Little Pony but I have a lot of friends who are xD. So I was kind of thinking of a few friends of mine who are really in to the series. For some reason, Rainbow Dash kept popping in to the equation while drawing this…Did I forget to mention that I am in no way a fan of My Little Pony?

In other news, I am excited to announce that a project that I worked on last year has been released in a video on youtube. It was an illustrated story known as The Majestic Tiger. I drew the illustrations in the video mid last year which was turned in to a video story book. Please do check out the video to see the digital art work I contributed to this project. Anyway,I’m pretty sure the reason behind this drawing was because I was tired and the t.v. was on at the time. It only took about an hour and half to do this, I really wanted to get some sleep xD. One of these days, I’m gonna just draw a horizontal line and call it a day.

Also, I’ve been thinking some lately…I feel like maybe I should branch out and try other mediums. I feel like I’ve been using photoshop a lot and I want to try something a little more traditional. I’m not too good with paints from what I’ve experienced, but I did used to make some  pretty interesting things with pastels and colored pencils combined in the past. What do you think?

I think the main reason for why I use photoshop so much is because it’s so convenient x.x. I don’t have to buy special art supplies or anything. That and I just like it. I don’t know xD.

In other news, I’m going to be updating the Tutorials section with new tutorials pretty soon. I’ve got a couple that are finished already, they just need to be posted. I hope my tutorials come in handy! They were a lot of fun to make and I hope that you guys enjoy them when they are up. I also hope to have some things to put in the resource section soon as well.

So about the art work…I really don’t know what inspired me to draw this actually. It was half past midnight when I started making this and all I could think about was getting some sleep x.x. I do know that the cat eyes in the sky came from petting my cat in hopes of staying awake x.x. Blah! I don’t have a lot to say about this besides that it was pretty much a random doodle that sort of turned in to this! xD

The little pond in front of the tree…I don’t know why I put that there. Whenever I think of big, ginormous trees I think of a water source nearby. Also, I thought it was a little empty with just the tree in the picture. One of my biggest pet peeves is a bare naked drawing. This explains why I rarely ever make drawings without backgrounds. It just gets on my nerves a little xD!

All of my characters will be completely original and thought up by my boyfriend and I. We are both artists as well as lovers of artists who would like to hopefully get others on the bandwagon. I hope to entertain someone in the process of posting my 365 random character concepts. Many of my drawings might not make much sense to some viewers of this website but that’s kind of what makes it fun! Sit back and watch the art come rolling in!

About this drawing: I titled this drawing “The Flower Girl”. While I was drawing this, All I could think of was flowers and pretty pink things, and a sheet ghost! Don’t ask what any of those things have to do with one another, they sort of just came to mind all of a sudden.
